Air Force Development Team Visit
Arthur Hatcher, director of communications, Headquarters Air Force Global
Strike Command, spoke at a November
special event coinciding with the Air Force
Development Team’s (DT’s) visit to San
Antonio for a fall leadership meeting.
Hatcher talked about modernization of
the Big Four, including the stand-up of
the Headquarters Air Force NC3 Center.
Cybersecurity cannot bolt onto the Air
Force’s legacy systems, he explained. “This
is a culture change, and we are trying to
save airmen time,” Hatcher said. The discussion led to the Striker Advancement in
Cyberspace Capability Plan 2020. Similar
to its service counterparts, the Air Force is
looking to defeat threats proactively with a
shift to multidomain operations to enhance
command, control and collaboration. The
plan seeks to sync efforts with other Air
Force and Defense Department initiatives
to sustain, modernize and standardize.
The chapter helped organize the eighth Aviation and Avionics Systems Seminar and B2B Meetings and Exposition
in October at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Ankara, Turkey.
The event, hosted by Electronics Valley Inc., attracted
more than 400 aerospace and defense industry professionals from local and international organizations, companies and research institutes. More than 20 industry-leading companies sponsored the event. It featured business-to-business meetings,
a technology exhibition and presentation sessions. The sessions included six technical workshops, 18 presentations and one advanced short course. Attendees were
introduced to the most recent top-notch technologies demonstrated by 15 different
manufacturers exhibited during the event. The chapter’s booth also drew a lot of
visitors. Electronics Valley and the chapter will continue to host similar events in
upcoming years, including in 2017.
