Congratulations to our Distinguished Young AFCEAN and Emerging Leadership award winners! We appreciate all your hard work and dedication to AFCEA. Without you, AFCEA would not be the organization it is today.
We also congratulate all our Model Young AFCEAN Program
and Young AFCEAN Chapter Program award winners. Your
chapters set great examples of how to engage Young AFCEANs
with effective programs. Additionally, Young AFCEAN Mary
Allison Yourchisin, vice president, special operations and joint
agencies, AC4S, will receive a Women in AFCEA Appreciation Award for 2017. We look forward to congratulating all the
award winners in person later this month at West.
The conference, February 21-23 in San Diego, will feature
the first-ever Young AFCEAN panel. Based on the monthly
SIGNAL article Disruptive by Design and titled “Federal
Acquisition in the Cyber Domain: Innovation to Implementa-
tion,” the panel will address the rapidly changing domain. In
addition to the panel, we will have a ceremony to honor all
Young AFCEAN award winners on February 21 and no-host
nights out for Young AFCEANs to get to know each other and
have some fun. We hope you will join us on the West Coast. If
you have any questions or would like more information, please
email Sarah Christensen at email@example.com.
There are even more chances for Young AFCEANs to be recognized thanks to the new 40 Under 40 Award. We are looking
to recognize bright, up-and-coming technology professionals
and thought leaders who are making great achievements in
their careers, specifically through the use of information technology or innovation in a science, technology, engineering and
mathematics (STEM) field. Nominees can be from government, military, industry or academia and must be members of
AFCEA by the nomination deadline of March 3. To submit a
nomination, please visit the awards page of the AFCEA website, www.afcea.org, under the “About” section. Winners will
be recognized at the Defense Cyber Operations Symposium in
Young AFCEAN Advisory Council
