AFCEA Europe named Maj. Gen. Erich Staudacher, GEAF (Ret.), its new general manager. He joined AFCEA in 2009 and has
served as president of the Bonn E.V.
Chapter since 2011.
Gen. Staudacher recently retired from
the German Armed Forces after 42 years
of military service. He served in combat
missions based in Italy and Uzbekistan,
commanded the Technical Group of FBW No. 32 at Lechfeld
Air Base from 1994 to 1996 in southern Germany and served
as deputy commander of the Armed Forces Support Com-
mand in western Germany.
In addition to his command assignments, Gen. Staudacher
has held a variety of senior leadership positions, including the
military assistant to the director of the joint armed forces staff
at the Ministry of Defense; the military adviser to the ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the United Nations;
and the director of the German Air Force headquarters in Berlin and Cologne.
The general holds a master’s degree in aeronautical and
space technology from Bundeswehr University Munich and a
bachelor’s degree in economics from FernUniversität Hagen.

Linda Tanzo-Alvarado
SAN DIEGO CHAPTER
Linda Tanzo-Alvarado joined the San Diego Chapter
a year ago. Since then, she has taken on the duties of
deputy for publicity, becoming an active member of the
chapter’s Executive Committee. Her two-year tenure
began last summer.
Alvarado has embraced her role and has been instrumental in coordinating registration and attendance for all chapter events.
Her willingness to assist in all aspects of chapter operations, no matter
how large or small, has contributed greatly to the chapter’s success and
reputation.
Alvarado’s experience in information and operations management at
Systems Technology Forum Ltd. is an asset to the chapter. She earned her
bachelor’s degree in business management and her project management certificate from the University of Phoenix. She is also a Lean Six Sigma Green
Belt, certified by Villanova University. Six Sigma is a methodology used to
improve business processes with statistical analysis rather than guesswork.
In recognition of her service to the chapter and the association, AFCEA
proudly names Linda Tanzo-Alvarado AFCEAN of the month.
