LOS ANGELES CHAPTER
Steve Staso, an account manager for Hewlett Pack- ard, designs enterprise computing solutions for clients using hyper-converged, cloud computing
and virtualization technologies. Since 1992, he has
been an active member of the Los Angeles Chapter
and has served on the chapter’s board of directors in a variety of roles.
The original AFCEA International website was founded on the implementation and design brought forth by Staso during his leadership of
the Young AFCEAN Advisory Council from 1995 to 1996. He currently
is the chapter vice president for communications. In this position, he
provides vital news, registration and payment services for chapter events,
including luncheons, GPS and military satellite communications events.
Staso has been the unspoken hero for the chapter for two decades. He
has been the webmaster for every monthly luncheon during this time,
supporting more than 200 events. Furthermore, Staso implemented an
online payment and collection system used for all chapter events; it’s so
effective that the chapter shares this capability with its sister associations
in the space systems development community.
From 1987 to 1996, Staso proudly served as an officer in the U.S.
Air Force at Los Angeles Air Force Base and Offutt Air Force Base,
Nebraska. Staso continues to serve as a reserve officer for the Air
Force Academy admissions office. For his outstanding enthusiasm and
overall dedication to the association and the chapter, AFCEA proudly
names Steve Staso AFCEAN of the Month.
